Supreme Court of Canada Grants Leave To Appeal On Breached Confidential Informer Case

John Rice KC, alongside SCC appellate counsel Tam Boyar, Matthew Gourlay, and Eileen Patel, has obtained leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada in a significant case concerning constitutional damages arising from the Crown’s negligent disclosure of information identifying a confidential informant: Supreme Court of Canada | 41981.

The hearing date has not yet been confirmed but is expected sometime in the fall of 2026.
