Rice Parsons Leoni & Elliott LLP has decades of experience prosecuting claims against individuals as well as institutions, arising from interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and physical assaults.  While your assault may have not resulted in criminal charges being approved against the wrongdoer, that does not necessarily mean that you do not have a viable civil claim to compensate you for the injuries you suffered.  In many cases, the wrongdoer’s homeowner insurance will cover your losses. Where the wrongdoer is uninsured, however, he or she would need to have assets to pay any settlement or judgment in your favour.  In either case, our firm will undertake the necessary research to ensure that there are available funds to compensate you.

If you or a loved one has been injured as a result of an assault, contact us for a free consultation as soon as possible.  Contacting us early will give you the best chance of advancing a successful claim, as evidence may be lost or details forgotten with the passing of time. It is also important to remember that generally speaking, victims of assaults will have only two years from the date of the injury to start a lawsuit (note: this is not the case for sexual assaults, which do not have any limitation period within which claimants must start a lawsuit).
