Daniel practices as a mediator and as associate counsel through Rice Parsons Leoni & Elliott LLP.

Daniel’s transition to mediation reflects a long-standing commitment to conflict resolution outside the courtroom. He brings over 25 years experience as a courtroom trial lawyer at Brain & Injury Law and Parsons Corrin LLP where he regularly handled high-stakes litigation. This experience informs his mediation practice, particularly his understanding of litigation risk, dispute dynamics and the pressures faced by all parties as matters approach trial.

Daniel has completed advanced mediation training at the Pepperdine Caruso Law School, with the International Academy of Mediators (IAM) in Switzerland and through local organizations including Mediate BC.

As a mediator Daniel is known for a calm, structured, and empathetic approach. He provides mediation services on litigated commercial and personal injury matters.

Daniel’s litigation practice focused on catastrophic injury claims, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. He continues to accept select co-counsel work in appropriate cases.  As a litigator, Daniel was known for developing long term relationships grounded in compassion, trust and clarity.

Daniel is also an experienced legal educator, having presented at nationally and internationally including at the International Mental Health and the Law Conferences (Rome, Prague), Vancouver General Hospital, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, and the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference.
